Nothing is more annoying than turning on your favorite show and seeing greasy fingerprints all over the screen. We could say the same about the hazy streaks that run over the faces of your favorite characters.

You'll need to clean your television screen regularly to keep it dust, dirt, and fingerprint-free to ensure your TV is in good condition. However, utilizing the incorrect cleaning procedures, such as simply spraying your TV with chemical solutions or window cleaner, might lead to long-lasting damage that could eliminate any chance of a proper solution working afterwards.

There are various solutions open to you when learning to clean a television screen.

How Do You Clean a Flat TV Screen?

Standard wet cleaning is not suitable for delicate LCD, plasma, or rear-projection displays. So what is the best way to clean a flat-screen TV?

For cleaning your flat-screen TV, you will need pre-moistened wipes, a microfiber cleaning cloth, or an electrostatic duster.

How to clean a flat-screen TV: dust the television using a soft, dry microfiber cloth or an electrostatic duster, such as Swiffer, the GH Seal star. Spot-clean strong streaks using an electronics wipe that has been pre-moistened. Use your microfiber cloth or duster to go over the buttons and the back of the TV, do not forget to clean the vents.

How to Clean a LED TV Screen?

You can use dish soap for cleaning LED and LCD panels, but use it with caution. Prepare a cleaning solution, adding 2-3 drops of dish soap to distillate water.

  • Wipe the screen with a dry towel to remove dust before using a dish soap cleaning mixture.
  • Dip a lint-free cloth in the dish soap mixture.
  • Squeeze the liquid out and clean the screen carefully. Make sure you've covered every inch of the surface. If you wait too long to clean once you've finished, the solution will dry up on the screen, causing fuzzy vision.
  • Rinse the cloth with water to remove any soapy residue, then dry the screen with the dry towel you used to wipe away the dust.

What to Avoid While Cleaning a TV Screen?

It's similar to wiping a window to clean an old television, but modern televisions demand better maintenance. While all current screens may be cleaned the same way, you should be extremely careful about which TV screen cleaner you use and how to use it.

First of all, make sure television power is turned down. You will not only be protected, but you will also be able to clearly see any dirt.

Fibers from paper towels, tissues, and other lint cloths can harm the screen. Use a microfiber cloth or an electrostatic duster for cleaning.

Don't apply too much pressure - otherwise, your LCD or plasma TV screen may have burned-out pixels the next time you turn it on.

Cleaning the screen in circles is recommended to avoid streaks.

Final Thoughts

While the cleanliness of the remote will not affect your cinematic viewing experience, you should maintain it clean to ensure that it continues to operate with your television. Since it is likely one of the most commonly handled things in your home, cleaning it often reduces the transmission of germs. We recommend using disinfecting wipes daily to clean the remote control.
