Halloween is coming and you haven’t decorated your property yet? Well, you still have time to avoid a trick at your door on Halloween. The treat is that you won’t have to break the bank because most the ideas are DIY’s and also a great time doing crafts.

Entry Wreath

On your entry door, hang a wreath to greet your visitors and let them feel the Halloween vibes. All you need is a wreath ring and several flowers, pompoms or ribbons. Pin a small skeleton or a table with spooky wording. Use things like ribbons, feathers, and buttons to glam it up!

Pumpkins

Pumpkin is the main attribute of Halloween, so you definitely need at least one. If you’re tired of carving or painting them, there are some more sophisticated ways for decorations. Like making succulent pumpkins, for example. It’s the latest trend in Halloween decor and it looks amazing! All you need is succulents (of different shapes, sizes, and colors), glue, moss, and of course some pumpkins.

Despite its originality and beauty, this decoration has one more benefit - the potential to last several months. Their festive look can be appreciated well into the Thanksgiving season as well. And when the sprouts root, they can be potted into containers or in the garden.

The other “botanical” idea for pumpkins is to decorate them with leaves. It looks very unusual and is really easy to do. Just grab some leaves from around your house or even some of your houseplants. Next, remove the stems and use Mod Podge to adhere the foliage to the top of your pumpkin and you’re done. That’s it!

Halloween Mantel

Make your mantel look Halloween-ish. You’ll need just a few things to give your mantel the Halloween atmosphere, and they’re easy-to-do. Cut out some black cardboard bats and stick them to a mirror or window. Add the look of “bloody candles” by dripping melted red candles over white candle tops. Print a witch-themed book or book of spells onto packing paper and wrap your books so the binders appears like haunting books. And finally, stretch some cobwebs across a mirror or wall. Put one or two pumpkins and your mantel is ready!

Hanging Bats and Ghosts

Turn egg cartons into bats or even ask your kids to do it with and turn it into a family night. Just cut them out, add paint, and draw the eyes. Add Halloween ghosts by painting leaves white, then drawing a spooky face with a marker. Hang them with orange ribbon on a chandeliers or ceiling.

Bloody Table Runner

You can put this table runner near the entry door or on your coffee table and keep some sweets and other Halloween stuff on it. To make it, you’ll need gauze, red acrylic paint, and a paintbrush. Dab the paintbrush into the paint and sporadically brush along the gauze runner. For a truly Dexter-inspired look, swipe some red paint onto Mason jars for candle votives and on plastic cups (add a handprint or two for really gruesome settings).
